God Sees Me

Hagar had been cruelly treated and sent away from the home where she was enslaved. God found her and said that she was carrying a child and would have numerous descendants. He also told her to return to her mistress, Sara. Hagar called God ‘the God who sees me’, saying

I have now seen the One who sees me.

God sees me however insignificant I feel. He sees me wherever I find myself or however unnoticed and negligible I feel, just as He saw Hagar, the enslaved woman.

Spend a few moments meditating on the words Hagar declared. Consider how God sees you and looks after you. How do you feel? What would you like him to do for you?

Declare:

“ God sees me” several times during the day.

Prayer:

God, thank you that you see me wherever I am and that I am significant to you.
